Following is an introduction and overview of the Hurley Bassett Leadership Institute educational training :

 

NOTE:   The following courses are Mandatory   or "recommended" before being ordained as an Elder.  For women, these courses are also mandatory for licensed Missionaries:

​

1. Growing Towards Spiritual Maturity  (Mandatory)

2. Understanding People   (Mandatory)

3. Understanding Doctrine As Taught By COGIC (Mandatory)

4. The Servants' Ministry (Mandatory for Elders/Highly Recommended for Licensed Missionaries)

5. Developmental Phases for COGIC Women (Highly Recommended for Elders/Mandatory for Licensed Missionaries)

FYI:  Pastor Mike Bell will conduct a formal training on-site for the "The Servants' Ministry" before taking the online test. The course participant is required to coordinate dates with Pastor Bell for the on-site training.

 

The HBLI courses will be conducted as follows:

 

All lectures and tests will be sent to the course participants via email.  The participant will complete the tests at their leisure and return them via email to Deacon Vada Grantham (HBLI Course Coordinator). NOTE:  If a course participant is planning to go before the review board, please do not wait until the last minute to complete the courses or try to rush the HLBI coordinator to grade the courses because of your delinquency!!!   

 
You are required to complete at least 70% on each course.

After the tests have been graded by the HBLI Course Coordinator, the course participant will be informed regarding his or her test scores.  
 
EACH COURSE COST $60.00:  AFTER THE COMPLETION OF EACH TEST, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED OF YOUR SCORE (70% OR MORE).  WHEN A COURSE IS COMPLETED/PASSED, YOU WILL RECEIVE A "CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION." 

 

 YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION UNTIL A COURSE IS PAID FOR!

THIS WILL BE THE CONFIRMATION TO THE REVIEW BOARD THAT YOU HAVE COMPLETED & PAID FOR A PARTICULAR COURSE.  

PAYMENT MUST BE MADE IN THE FORM OF A CHECK:  THE CHECK SHALL BE MADE OUT TO:  HBLI TRAINING - Iowa COGIC
